The garden is beautifully manicured, trees and birds in abundance. Staff is friendly and attentive. Dinner was exceptional. My husband was staying at Sunninghill Hospital and they arranged transportation for me to visit. Comfortable bed, very clean room, large patio and inverters so I had no issues with load shedding. Great value for price, I extended my stay.

Everything from the friendly staff members to the facilities. The rooms were clean, comfortable and had everything that I needed. I enjoyed the breakfast the kitchen staff members are nice and friendly. This is one of the best places.

If you want to watch TV in your room then go somewhere else. Out of 9 nights i only managed to watch TV 3 times and could not choose all the channels. Kept on getting error messages

As partner of a consulting company specializing in food safety, work safety, training and mystery client audits, with a degree in hotel management, I´m one of the most observing clients a hotel may have. I booked because of location and reviews. During a 2 week stay in August I got what I needed: security, comfort, hygiene, nice breakfast, constant electricity. My self-catering room was spacious, with varanda, heated floors, kitchenette, electricity to charge phones during “load shedding” (daily power cuts), a good sized fridge, microwave, oven, toaster, kettle. VALUABLE DETAILS: a flash light in the bedside table; umbrella; dish-washing liquid and sponge in the kitchenette; electricity sockets (compatible with European phone and pc chargers) by the desk; panic button by the bed; good wardrobe. The Hadidas are fascinating and you can see many lovely birds in the garden. Breakfast is by the pool. Expect a typical SA breakfast with a surprisingly good variety of a la carte eggs. Was pleasantly surprised with touches such as hot oats and expresso coffee for the more demanding European. This isn´t Europe, so don’t expect the same variety of pastries, cheese, yogurts, seeds and individually pressed orange juice. Instead, enjoy a la carte eggs, mushroom, tomato, bacon and other local treats in an informal setting. Staff were very accommodating and even served clients who arrived at closing time, which is most unusual in Europe. On a few occasions I wanted to eat ripe pawpaw and Bokomo I bought at Woolworths, so I fetched coffee-bread-butter-jam from the restaurant and fixed myself a lazy breakfast and enjoyed it on my veranda. Staff were the overall wow factor! Everyone VERY friendly and accommodating, and a solo traveller will feel safe and cared for. A VERY important factor for me was the free lifts into town, because it’s well-known that Ubers can be dangerous for single women. The ladies in reception are fantastic and check-out felt like a farewell between friends.

BREAKFAST: I love healthy food, and would have appreciated a wider selection of: ripe fruit (sometimes fruit salad was not ripe enough) and brown bread (such as seeded bread, etc.). LAUNDRY: When using the laundry service, be sure to leave ADDED written instructions so as to avoid clothes shrinking, white colours staining (becoming grey), or them forgetting to iron even though I filled in the form correctly. When I started writing washing instructions on the forms, the clothes came back perfectly. BEDROOM: There was no magnifying mirror in the bathroom. But because I had my own, I forgot to tell them. The hair dryer switched off after 30 seconds of use and could not be used. I did not ask for another hairdryer because I discovered a nice salon (Mane Attraction) where I regularly washed my hair during the remainder of the stay. (But I am sure that if I had mentioned it to reception, they would have resolved the situation).

The generally outlook is great, trees well maintained. I have to single out the house keeping team for a great job. Kudos to Mirriam who was cleaning my room, she would give it her all, 10/10 for her.

The food was generally OK, The location is good but not easily accessible, some gates to the location were closed which made it difficult to access.

Location is great, very close to a number of great restaurants and bars. Grounds are beautiful with lush greenery. Staff were very friendly and helpful. Rooms were spacious clean and tidy. Breakfast offered a decent variety of options. Ideal for couple, or groups.

It has a home environment and you don’t feel lost

the shops are a bit distant and area is said not to be safe to walk in the evenings so had to order food using dial a delivery system

Exceptional breakfast with plentiful choices. Great accommodation, serene, clean spacious rooms - Rivonia Premier Lodge is just the right place to stay in. I loved every bit of my stay, The complementary hotel shuttle helps to reach most of the restaurants in the neighbourhood.

Nothing really

This was our second stay here and we were delighted to find that since we last stayed there four years ago, there has been no deterioration in the service and quality of this resort. The welcome was genuine and heartfelt. The service was excellent and we would unreservedly recommend this resort to anybody! We'll continue to use this resort as a base whenever we are in Johannesburg! 5 stars without hesitation!

The setting was very relaxing, loved the breakfast area by the pool, the room was very spacious and clean, all in all such a comfy stay that I didn’t even know I was away from home. Also close proximity to Kyalami race track which was our purpose of visit for the 9 hour race. The breakfast was great and the staff very friendly, highly recommended.

Staff were super friendly, wifi was good, easy for cab drivers to find

The location, whilst safe, provides very little to do unless you fancy taking a cab somewhere. Whilst the local village is pleasant, not being able to walk anywhere in the evening isn't great.
